Junior Manager

& U8s coach

Peter Boorman

0781 801 5754

‘Stormin' oversees all things to do with junior cricket. He also continues to cling on to his place in the DCC 1 st XI where he opens the batting (when in form!). A decent cricketer in his day … but it's now no longer his day. If you've got any complaints or compliments about the juniors – he's the man to see!

Child Welfare Officer

& U8s coach

Craig Sharp

‘Sharpie' has a number of hats. As well as being our CWO, he also performs the role of Club Secretary and opens the batting for either DCC 1 sts or 2 nds – depending on availability! Until last year, Sharpie held the record for the highest individual score by a Dumblie – 175 not out. His best contribution to the club was fathering Will – who looks like he's going to be a much better cricketer than his dad.

Head Coach

Ron Headley

‘Big Ron' is our resident ex West Indies test cricketer. Son of the even more famous George Headley and father of Dean ( England ). Nearly 70 years old but fitter than most of our 1 st team … and all of our 2 nd team. Employed by the club to coach our ‘academy' youngsters and our senior players. Also does individual coaching for youngsters of any age for a small fee – let Pete Boorman know if you are interested.

U15s Team Manager

Tim Cull

Tim is too nice to have a nickname. He's the one who is almost single-handedly responsible for building our enviable team of U15 cricketers. A seam bowler of limited distinction, he now takes great pleasure in watching his prodigies beat all-comers.

Coaching Quals: ECB Level 1

U14s Team Manager

Peter Eayrs

Peter has been the U12 manager for the last two years but has now taken on the U14s. Clearly a patient man who enjoys a challenge! An old school Dumblie, Peter played as a batsman for the club for approximately 213 years.

Coaching Quals: ECB Level 1

U12s Team Manager

Wayne Gore

Our new U12 team manager, Wayne came through the junior ranks at Dumbleton a long time ago and now has a talented son, Jason, who's doing the same thing. Let's hope we do a better job with Jason. Wayne also helps to organise the ‘Stanton Sloggers' who are well known in the area as a distinguished team of ‘Sunday' cricketers!

U14/15s coach

Mike Gibson

‘ Gibbo ' has just retired from the DCC 1 st team (before he was dropped). Spent 2 of his younger years on the books at Leicestershire but is now getting on a bit and it's showing. Heard all the ‘bald bloke' jokes in existence. He's just passed his Level 2 coaching course and can't wait to try out a load of new ideas on our 13-15s

Coaching Quals: ECB Level 2

U12s coach

Tom Green

‘Tommy G' or ‘Teresa' could well be a future club captain. The best cricketer in his DCC year group (although there were only 3 in total), he now holds the new record for the highest individual score by a Dumblie - 183. He can also bowl very quick when not injured (rare!). A regular DCC 1 st teamer, he also captains our Sunday 1 st team. He's also the man to see about club kit.

Coaching Quals: ECB Level 2

U12s coach

Gareth Reid

‘ Greidy ' … by both name and nature. His dress sense is questionable but his commitment and enthusiasm are not. Best mates with Tommy G but nowhere near as good at cricket. Has good hands behind the timbers and is a consistently inconsistent middle order batsman.

Coaching Quals: ECB Level 1

U10s coach

John Lawrence

‘Jonners' is almost certainly the nicest bloke you've ever met. Even at his age, he can still be seen playing the exaggerated front foot defensive at Dumbleton on a Sunday afternoon. Don't be fooled by his dodgy short/sock/shoe combos – he's actually a man of high influence as CEO of a thriving international book empire based in Winchcombe – an ideal bloke to know if you want a summer job!

U10s coach

George Prudden

‘Big George' is an icon of Dumbleton youth cricket. He has just graduated from the DCC juniors and is now a regular DCC 1 st teamer. A big hitter in every sense, he's also now becoming an accomplished bowler. He's been a regular in the county junior squads – so all that coaching means he's in a great position to help our younger kids develop.

Coaching Quals: Waiting list for ECB Level 1

U8s coach

Nick Holland

‘Dutch' is new addition to the coaching team this year. Another DCC 1 st teamer, he's a high quality batsman who's gradually making his way down the batting order and into the 2nds. Static in the field, even when trying to run. Son-in-law of Ray Julian, our ex international umpire. Works for a brewery – which is why we keep picking him.

Coach (floating)

Neil Piercy

Our international jet setting financier, Neil joins us whenever he can on a Friday evening. An unorthodox left handed bat, he used to frighten opposing Sunday 2 nd team bowlers with his ability to hit the ball occasionally. Neil has been coaching our juniors for over 5 years so is a man with plenty of experience.

Subscriptions Collector

Dave Chandler

Despite his age and physique, Dave was still a regular 2 nd team league bowler until a couple of years ago. Regularly seen helping out behind the bar, Dave is the man to pay your subscriptions to – as soon as possible please!

County Welfare Officer

Tom Boore 01452 700228

Tom Boore is not from Dumbleton. He's the chap on the County board who is responsible for all things to do with child welfare and protection. We are required to provide you with his number in case you want to discuss any ‘welfare' issues with him directly. However, we would always urge you to speak to Peter Boorman or Craig Sharp first.
