Junior Manager
& U9s coach |
Peter Boorman
0781 801 5754 |
'Stormin' oversees all things to do with junior cricket. He also opens the batting for the 2nds after years of clinging onto his 1 st team place by his fingertips. A really terrific cricketer in his day (he tells us), but it's definitely no longer his day. If you've got any complaints or compliments about the juniors, he's the man to see!

Child Welfare Officer
& U11s coach/manager |
Craig Sharp |
'Sharpie' has a number of hats. As well as being our Child Welfare Officer, he also performs the role of Club Secretary, opens the batting for the 2nds and looks after our new U11 team. Until last year, Sharpie held the record for the highest individual score by a Dumblie, 175 not out. Despite his wide ranging brief, his best contribution to the club was fathering Will, who looks like he's going to be a much better cricketer than his dad. Coaching Quals: ECB Level 1 |

|
Head Coach |
Ron Headley |
'Big Ron' is our resident ex West Indies test cricketer. Son of the even more famous George Headley and father of Dean (England). Nearly 70 years old but fitter than most of our 1st team, and all of our 2nd team. Employed by the club to coach our academy youngsters and our senior players. Also does individual coaching for youngsters of any age for a small fee, let Pete Boorman know if you are interested. Coaching Quals: ECB Level 1 |
 |
Bowling Coach |
Kevin Emery |
'Big Kev' used to open the bowling with Malcolm Marshall at Hampshire and was the leading wicket taker in the first class game in 1983. Also played for England U19s and was picked for England A tour. Now an after dinner speaker with a growing reputation. He'll be happy to tell you all about it if you've got a spare fortnight. A new asset to the DCC coaching team this year, he'll be working to improve the bowling of the seniors and older youngsters.

U13s B Team Manager |
Peter Udale |
A new addition to the team this year, Peter has already made a big contribution to Dumbleton cricket club by fathering three budding cricketers. It will be Peter's job to run the inaugural U13 B team. Anything could happen and probably will.

U13s A Team Manager |
Wayne Gore |
Our U13 team manager, Wayne came through the junior ranks at Dumbleton a long time ago and now has a talented son, Jason, who's doing the same thing. Let's hope we do a better job with Jason. Wayne also helps to organise the 'Stanton Sloggers' who are well known in the area as a distinguished team of 'Sunday' cricketers! |

|
U15s Coach/Manager |
Mike Gibson |
'Gibbo' is another ex 1 st team player who has recently 'retired' to the 2nds . Before he came to Dumbleton he was allegedly a decent player spending 2 of his younger years on the books at Leicestershire. He's now getting on a bit and it's showing. Heard all the 'bald bloke' jokes in existence. Runs a cricket shop near Tewkesbury and is always happy to give any Dumbly player a pretty hefty discount! A Level 2 coach, he's got loads of ideas to try out on our U15s.

U13s coach |
Tom Green |
TG is the best Dumbleton cricketer of his generation and (bar Greidy) the only one. Not only does he bowl very fast when not injured (rare) but he also holds the new record for the highest individual score by a Dumblie - 183. A regular DCC 1 st teamer, he's a level 2 qualified coach and fab with the U13s.

U13s coach |
Mark Rennie |
'Rens' is very tall - particularly if you're a small 11 year old. He's also quite ginger but a very nice lad. Just finished a degree at Oxford, Poly that is! Rens has come through the junior ranks at DCC and is now a very capable 3rd change bowler for our 2nd team when we're short. He's also the captain of our Sunday 1 st team - so when he's not coaching you'll probably see him on the phone trying to get a team together. Completed his level 1 coaching qualification this winter.

U11s coach/manager |
Giles Lancaster |
Gradually becoming one of the top legal minds in Gloucestershire, but Gilo will have a more challenging role as the joint coach/manager of the U11s this year. When he's not coaching he'll be trying as hard as he can to hold down a top 6 slot in the 1 st team. His best asset is his ability to 'nudge' but with a new level 1 cricket qualification under his belt, we're sure he'll have a long and distinguished career as a cricket coach too. |

|
U9s coach |
George Prudden |
'Big George' is an icon of Dumbleton youth cricket. He recently graduated from the DCC juniors and is now a regular in our senior league teams. A big hitter in every sense, he's also now becoming an accomplished bowler. He's completed his level 1 coaching qualification in the winter so I'm sure he'll be dead keen to try out some new big ideas on the kids.

U9s coach |
Matt Nicholson |
'Nico' is another of our budding young cricketers. A left handed crab-like batter who takes 'back and across' to it's limits. Also very solid with the gloves, he's already a regular in our league 2 nd team and is destined for promotion to the 1 st s in due course. He's another one who completed his level 1 coaching course in the winter and is sure to do a great job with the kids.

U7s Coach |
John Lawrence |
The U7s will never have seen anything like John. He's almost certainly the nicest bloke you've ever met. Even at his age, he can still be seen playing the exaggerated front foot defensive at Dumbleton on a Sunday afternoon. Don't be fooled by his dodgy short/sock/shoe combos, he's actually a man of high influence as Proprietor of a thriving international book empire based in Winchcombe, an ideal bloke to know if you want a summer job!
|
|
U7s coach |
Nick Holland |
Nick tells us he's scored 42 centuries in his career. Pretty good that if it's true. He's still a good batter but is gradually making his way down the 1 st team batting order and into the 2nds. Now static in the field, even when trying to run. Son-in-law of Ray Julian, our ex international umpire. Works for the company that supplies our beer - so will always get picked. Also a member of the MCC and good to know if you want tickets for the test match. He can't wait to coach the U7s after a long hard week at work.

Assistant Coach |
Colby Grace |
Our new Aussie and no relation to WG. Reported to be quite a quick young bowler so we're hoping he performs better for Dumbleton than his compatriots do against England this summer. In the process of doing his level 1 coaching qualification in Australia and with a bit of luck, some of that Aussie magic will rub off on our kids.
|
 |
Assistant Coach |
Sam Hopkins |
A recent graduate of the DCC youth programme, Sam is now eager to pass on all he's learned to the next generation of Dumbleton youngsters. Quite clearly the best cricketer to emerge from the Hopkins family since Alec (who's now 453 years old), Sam is very capable with bat, ball or gloves and we're delighted he wants to come and do some coaching |
 |
Assistant Coach |
Joe Harrell |
Still only 17 but already a Dumbleton CC legend. The latest in a long line of Harrells associated with Dumbleton, Joe can always be relied upon to put his heart, soul and a cheeky pint of cider into everything he does. Just passed his driving test so best to stay well clear if you see him in the car park. This is his first year as a coach but we think he'll be terrific. |
| |
County Welfare Officer |
Tom Boore
01452 700228 |
Tom Boore is not from Dumbleton. He's the chap on the County board who is responsible for all things to do with child welfare and protection. We are required to provide you with his number in case you want to discuss any 'welfare' issues with him directly. However, we would always urge you to speak to Peter Boorman or Craig Sharp first. |
